The how-to is 4 different posts:
- Amazon Linux to Vagrant Box – part 1 – How to build the first image
- Amazon Linux to Vagrant Box – part 2 – How to boot the first image
- Amazon Linux to Vagrant Box – part 3 – How to configure the image
- How to convert images into Vagrant boxes (VMware Fusion and Virtualbox examples)
I am releasing the images I made ahead of posting part 4 of the series.
These images are Amazon Linux 2014.03 and are 64-bit only.
You can add these to your vagrant configuration via one of 2 methods.
Download first:
vagrant box add <name> <filename>
Directly from the Internet:
vagrant box add <name> <URL>
Amazon Linux 2014.03 Vagrant image for VMware: http://images.geekandi.com/amazon-linux/vagrant-amazon-linux64-2014.03-public-vmware.box (checksum file)
Amazon Linux 2014.03 Vagrant image for Virtualbox: http://images.geekandi.com/amazon-linux/vagrant-amazon-linux64-2014.03-public-virtualbox.box (checksum file)
And if you wish to start customizing the images I made in either Virtualbox or VMware Fusion or Desktop, download these OVA images. vagrant user is there, ec2-user password is ec2-user (to keep it simple).
