Stargate SG:1 cancelled!

No way, I thought, but then I read the announcement on the SciFi.com website.  10 years and SciFi channel drops the series after 5.

What’s next?  Another stupid series like Tremors?  GAH!  SciFriday could start to suck if we geeks can not get our 3 hours (well, 2 hours, 6 minutes if you DVR/TiVo it) of great to decent SciFi!  I hope they don’t move Eureka to SciFriday to help ‘fill in the gap’, it is a good mid-week filler, but it isn’t up to task for SciFriday.
As listed on the SciFi website the show is not going to be renewed for another season but that Atlantis has been renewed.

I don’t mind Atlantis, it doesn’t suck, perse, but it isn’t SG:1 at all.  Vampires?  Come on.  Atlantis has far less imagination than SG:1 does.  Even the first 2 seasons of SG:1 are better than all of the Atlantis episodes so far!  Hopefully some of the writers for SG:1 that don’t write for Atlantis will come over and Atlantis could become a great show.  nod nod wink wink
But my biggest problem with the cancellation of SG:1 is that they just brought the Ori into our galaxy (our television screen) and they haven’t been beat into a pulp yet, or even knocked back!
I am glad that SciFi did that 200th episode special as we needed some humor.  Especially now.

SciFi – please do not cancel BSG and please do not bring on another series like Tremors – we are smarter than you think and we don’t require stupid shows as fillers.

Now, finally, my questions…

  • Will Michael Shanks show up on Atlantis?
  • Will the Ori battle the Wraith?
  • Will a series with Ben Browder and Claudia Black ever last?

One Reply to “Stargate SG:1 cancelled!”

First they took X-Files away from us on Friday nights and now SG1?!?!
