MacBook Pro Part 2

Wow, and it just keeps going and going…

Newest problem? I put the computer to sleep (either closing the lid, or going to the blue Apple and selecting ‘sleep) – it sleeps fine, unless I transport the box.

I don’t know, I can not be alone when it comes to this MacBook Pro and these different kinds of problems.

Originally, I had a problem after bringing up my new MacBook Pro and doing the data migration (see link).

Well, the problem is back where I can not make the system ask for a password when coming out of Screen Saver mode, or out of Sleep mode.

When the system is put to sleep (as mentioned above) and I put the computer into my bag – within 45-60 minutes, the battery is dead, though the lid never lifted and from what I can see, the system never came out of sleep mode. If I open the computer up before the battery dies, I can see that there is some battery left, and text applications I had running specifically to see if the system ever woke up do not have any new output until I did wake it up myself. That is now 3 large problems I am having.

Today I tested by having the machine powered down before putting it into my bag – the battery was full, and all of the lights on the battery itself were green. 2 hours later…I have two lights on the battery when I push the button.

Google searches are coming up empty and I think I am going to have to call into Apple and see if they can give me a hand with this issue.

It isn’t as if this box isn’t cool just being the newest model. It is pretty fast and with the updates to the different software coming out in Universal format – the number of application crashes has diminshed greatly.

Woe is me I guess. Of course, my buddy Jer does not have this problem with his new MacBook Pro. The differences between our boxes is that I have the 7200RPM 100GB disk, he has the 5400RPM 120GB disk, and he received his new laptop exactly 1 week after I received mine.
